Exploring Areas of Cooperation Between the Young Scientists Festival and Mehrgiti Institute

In line with the development of joint cooperation and with the aim of identifying and supporting young talents, a meeting was held with the participation of Dr. Shadi Jamili, Dr. Meshkat Asadi, and Dr. Soroush Moddab from the Secretariat of the Young Scientists Festival, and Ms. Zahra Gitinejad, CEO of Mehrgiti, a non-governmental organization.

During the meeting, the shared capacities of the two organizations for identifying and empowering a new generation of talented students and young people were discussed.

Mehrgiti has been active since 2005, focusing on cultural and educational initiatives, particularly the development of educational facilities and school construction. Over the years, the organization has played an active role in constructing and equipping schools, providing educational support to students, donating books and educational equipment, and equipping vocational schools and skills-training facilities in different parts of the country. The organization also implements a range of programs to support students in underserved areas, with the aim of reducing cultural poverty and inequality.

During the meeting, considering the special focus of the 10th Young Scientists Festival, “Future-generation Innovators,” and its emphasis on identifying, guiding, and supporting talented teenagers and young people, discussions were held on utilizing Mehrgiti’s extensive network and connections with schools and vocational schools across the country.

Accordingly, the possibility of introducing the festival to talented students and vocational-school students, creating opportunities for them to participate in the ideation process, and identifying innovative talents in the fields of basic sciences and technology were among the key topics discussed during the meeting.

The importance of establishing a communication pathway between talented students and the festival’s scientific, educational, and support capacities was also emphasized. This would enable ideas and talents developed during the school years to benefit from appropriate opportunities for further growth and development into innovative projects.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that the existing capacities of both organizations would be further explored to design joint programs aimed at identifying and supporting the “Innovators of the Future”.
